History of MSC Colombia, 1994 up to date
MSC Colombia was founded in October 1994 offering services from Buenaventura to United States (East Coast & Gulf), North Europe, Mediterranean Ports, Africa, and Australia. Very soon and due to the support from our valued clients inside and outside the country the services were upgraded to weekly. In few years our coverage included also Mexico East Coast and South America East and West Coasts . In 1999 we began to call Cartagena with exports to South America West Coast and offering import services from all mentioned trades.
Presently our Head office is located in Bogota, with Commercial offices in Medellin, Cali and Cartagena (Barranquilla). Furthermore we have Port Offices in Cartagena and Buenaventura which are the ports that we call at present. Now we are pleased to announce our new call in Santa Marta as from September 11th 2010.
MSC handles the biggest volume of cargo in Buenaventura since a few years. Both imports and exports are dominated by our company in this port.
All our services are weekly. Our network offers any destination in the world either via direct services or with connections in our various transhipment hubs such as:
- Freeport, Bahamas or Caucedo, Dominican Republic for the Americas and the Caribbean.
- Balboa , Cristobal (Panama) our Main port of transhipment
- Antwerp, Belgium (Home Terminal), Bremerhaven, Germany or Felixstowe, UK for Europe and Scandinavia
- Piraeus, Greece for the Mediterranean
- Durban, SA for Africa and Australia
- Nhava Sheva, India for India and Pakistan
- Hong Kong, Chiwan or Shanghai for the Far East.
